Merry Christmas!

The holidays are upon us and, I know it should be fa la la la la’s, mistletoe and Egg Nog all around, but I am having a hard time getting into the spirit this year. The over-commercialized season with new gadgets, gotta-haves, and traffic have me overwhelmed. I had to take a sick day from work. Well, I didn’t haveto, but I did. t could be age, but it certainly feels like time is moving at warp speed and I’m not prepared for the time flight. Pretty soon I’ll be applying for social security and ordering Clarks shoes.

Then there was the senseless shooting in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Loss of life is always hurtful and tragic, particularly at the expense of innocent children.  God, have mercy on all of the families who had to experience this Christmas without their loved ones.  Remember to hug those close to you, and remind them of how much you love them.  Tomorrow isn’t promised so let’s remember to love and forgive.

We don’t have control of merciless killings, but we can control our actions and the impact we have on the world.  Enjoy the rest of your holiday season and remember to be kind.
