Keep Pushing

Every day I try to stay focused on the positive things in life. Especially the little things. It’s easy to get caught up in negativity, but we should be mindful that tomorrow isn’t promised so let's make the best of things.

Yesterday I was at the store, and the clerk asked me how I was doing. I said, "I can't complain. How about you?" And she said, "I can complain but I won't." I like that response. We can always find something to complain about, but instead, let's focus on the good.

I make it my goal to stay positive no matter what’s going on. I’m not saying that’s an easy task and I’m certainly not saying that I’m always successful at it, but it’s the goal. Gotta have a purpose, right? Work was hard today, but I thought about the blessing of having a job and the benefits of good health. I also reminded myself that things aren’t always going to be a walk in the park. Unfortunately, bad days happen to good people.   At the very least, there’s a paycheck to look forward to. I mean, who doesn’t appreciate payday?

So when the frays of life get you down, and the windfall of mishaps come down like autumn leaves, put a smile on your face and keep moving forward. Even if you walk at a slow, 11-hour work-day pace, that’s fine, so long as you keep on pushing!
