I used to think writing was just about me and my thoughts. Getting my creative juices on paper and tell extraordinary stories.

But that's only part of it.

Your experiences and feelings can indeed guide you through the writing process. As can great editing tools and writing prompts and dedicated writing space.

But there's more to writing. Writers need a community. The idea of engaging other writers was a challenge. Like many writers, I am an introvert. I prefer the company of the few close friends I've known all my life and my family.

New friends? Nah, that's not me.

It wasn't until I was invited to contribute to an anthology several years back that I began to appreciate a writing community's value. A community that understands and supports you and your goals.

Now I'm all in with my writing community and have participated in some awesome projects and interviews over the years.
