Celebrating Women!

This month, we're celebrating the women who have made our lives better and stronger, and we're learning more about the history of women in America. From suffragettes to abolitionists to astronauts, women have been making strides for generations, and they continue to do so today.

So we're taking this opportunity to celebrate some of these amazing women and the things they've done for us all. Let's take a look at some of our favorite female role models from history:

Kizzmekia Corbett, PhD

Kizzmekia, was notably one of the leading scientists developing the Covid-19 vaccine in 2020. Working at the National Institutes of Health, Corbett was a key player of the team that developed the Moderna vaccine that was later proven to be 94.1 percent effective against the virus.

Cleo Wade

Wade is widely recognized for her affirming and inspiring poetry, which gained much, In 2018, Time dubbed her “the poet of her generation,” and her first book, Heart Talk: Poetic Wisdom for a Better Life, was a bestseller.

Ibtihaj Muhammad

During the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, Muhammad became the first American woman to wear a hijab while competing at the games and win a bronze medal. She’s also a five-time Senior World medalist and World champion. And in 2017, Mattel produced its first hijab-wearing Barbie, created in Muhammad’s likeness.
